Formalizing Opponent Modeling with the Rock, Paper, Scissors Game

چکیده
In simple dyadic games such as rock, paper, scissors (RPS), people exhibit peculiar sequential dependencies across repeated interactions with a stable opponent. These regularities seem to arise from mutually adversarial process of trying outwit their What underlies this process, and what are its limits? Here, we offer novel framework for formally describing quantifying human reasoning in the game. We first show that enables precise characterization complexity patterned behaviors themselves, appear exploit others. This combination allows quantitative understanding opponent modeling abilities. apply these tools an experiment which played 300 rounds RPS dyads. find although very complex move dependencies, they cannot opponents, indicating fundamental limitation people’s capacity reasoning. Taken together, results presented here how game formalization adaptive

The Multi-modal Rock-Paper-Scissors Game
The multi-modal rock-paper-scissors game is an interactive computer game where the opponent of the human player is a virtual agent appearing on the computer screen. The game is similar to the game between humans, the communication takes place by the tools of image and sound processing.
متن کاملNonlinear dynamics of the rock-paper-scissors game with mutations.
We analyze the replicator-mutator equations for the rock-paper-scissors game. Various graph-theoretic patterns of mutation are considered, ranging from a single unidirectional mutation pathway between two of the species, to global bidirectional mutation among all the species. Our main result is that the coexistence state, in which all three species exist in equilibrium, can be destabilized by a...

The rock-paper-scissors game is a paradigmatic model for biodiversity, with applications ranging from microbial populations to human societies. Research has shown, however, that mobility jeopardizes biodiversity by promoting the formation of spiral waves, especially if there is no conservation law in place for the total number of competing players. First, we show that even if such a conservatio...
متن کاملChaotic time series prediction for the game, Rock-Paper-Scissors
Two players of Rock-Paper-Scissors are modeled as adaptive agents which use a reinforcement learning algorithm and exhibit chaotic behavior in terms of trajectories of probability in mixed strategies space. This paper demonstrates that an external super-agent can exploit the behavior of the other players to predict favorable moments to play against one of the other players the symbol suggested ...
متن کاملPhase transitions for rock-scissors-paper game on different networks.
Monte Carlo simulations and dynamical mean-field approximations are performed to study the phase transitions in the rock-scissors-paper game on different host networks. These graphs are originated from lattices by introducing quenched and annealed randomness simultaneously. In the resulting phase diagrams three different stationary states are identified for all structures. The comparison of res...
